There were frequent settlements in the pipe due to corrosion in the crown /loss of structural strength and construction of new flyover /bridge over the line. This area is extremely crucial as it carries heavy traffic towards the nearby airport

Desilting of existing master sewer line including plugging and diversion of flow, providing and installing of Cured –in – Place Pipe liner (CIPP) of existing deteriorated master sewer line for size 600mm, 700mm and 800mm i/d along dividing road of Sector – 21/22, 22/23 and 23/23A, Gurugram and all other works contingent thereto

Here the crown was totally corroded leading to structural loss of sewer and frequent settlement. Artificial supports were first inserted in to the existing pipe which was almost about the collapse (as shown in the picture) to make the CIPP process easier and more durable

Bricks exposed as mortar was totally missing due to corrosion activities. This lead to both structural loss and fear of the pipe collapsing any moment

Rehabilitation of Chandni Chowk Sewer in Delhi

Location: Chandni Chowk Market
Onsite India was awarded the work of rehabilitation of the Chandni Chowk sewer line. Chandni Chowk suffered from huge water logging due to its old sewers laid during the British times and internally the 98 % silted sewer also showed infiltration problems. The entire network of 1200 meters was an egg shaped brick barrel with varying sizes from downstream to the upstream. This project was a part of Delhi Government’s flagship program of redevelopment of Chandni Chowk. The project was completed successfully and on time despite the lockdown due to the covid situation
